What Do I Do?

If I may borrow from Frozen — I’d be Elsa, and my younger sister is Anna. Literally. She takes care of my parents as if it’s her life’s purpose. And I’m deeply grateful for that, because it frees me from those worldly responsibilities.

On my husband’s side, his older brother plays the role of Shravan Kumar — the ancient archetype of a devoted child. That, too, eases the pressure on my husband and me, allowing us to focus on what feels like our purpose.

My Nuclear Family

In my native language, there’s a saying: the day your child outgrows you — either in height or intellect — you become friends. My son has outgrown me in both. So I suppose I’m now his quiet, background friend; like many mothers are to their grown children.

My husband is content in his own space. He’s a non-attached soul who expects very little from me — except that I stay happy and healthy.

Regarding myself: at one point, I became certified as a life coach, but eventually realized that one-on-one coaching isn’t for me. There’s no dramatic reason; it simply didn’t feel purposeful.

So what do I do now?

Just two things:

  • I take care of myself.
  • I write — like there’s no tomorrow.

If I had to name my occupation, it would be something like author of truth and tales. I’m focused on writing books. When possible, I also post blogs, scriptures, and comics.

That’s really it.
